Today, without any prior indication, Pangu (the team who previously released Jailbreak tools for both iOS 7.1.x and iOS 8.1) demonstrated that they have the ability to Jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 Untethered at HackPwn 2015, a security conference. However, before you get too excited, just note that it’s certainly possible that nothing will come of this latest achievement until after iOS 9.
Pangu stated that the team has no intention of Jailbreaking iOS 8.4.1, or any iOS 8.x firmware, before iOS 9’s release next month – however, TaiG said something to the same effect before releasing their iOS 8.3 Jailbreak (the tool was later updated for iOS 8.4).
iOS 8.4.1 and Pangu’s Jailbreak
So is it possible that Pangu will Jailbreak 8.4.1, especially considering the same exploits might not work on iOS 9 with its Rootless security? Ensure that you watch the above video for complete details. Also, don’t forget that it’s still possible to downgrade iOS 8.4.1 to 8.4 and re-Jailbreak (follow our tutorial here).
